Updating the Turkish citizenship Regulation guide
The Turkish citizenship law application manual has been updated, the government announced the new changes with a new circular that will become effective from January 1, 2023. According to the new regulations:
The citizenship application will no longer be submitted with joint ownership, according to the new circular, if the foreign applicant shares his property rights on the title deed with another real or legal person, he cannot apply for Turkish citizenship with the said property, the property must be in the name of one person.
There are no restrictions on the number of properties to be purchased or the type of property, it is possible to apply for Turkish citizenship with one or more real estate options such as residence, place of work, land or farm at a total selling price of at least 400,000 US dollars. According to the old guidelines, more than one sales contract has been accepted for real estate that meets the minimum sales amount. However, with the amendment made in the law, the minimum purchase amount must now be finalized with a single sales contract. It is not possible to apply for Turkish citizenship with more than a contract of sale.
The new manual clearly states that real estate with a timeshare system cannot be the subject of an application for Turkish citizenship.
The new amendment will be effective from January 1, 2023.
