Cookie policy

This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage used on this website, what each one does and how long it lasts. The list is short: necessary cookies that the site needs to work, analytics cookies only if you accept them, and no marketing cookies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way and keeps data in your browser on your device. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.

Your choice

On your first visit, a cookie notice asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work properly without them. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. If you withdraw your consent, the analytics cookies listed below (_ga, _ga_XXXXXXXXXX and buruj_attr) are deleted.

Necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the site to work, so they are always on.

  • cc_cookie: stores your cookie choices. Duration: about 6 months.
  • NEXT_LOCALE: remembers your language preference. Duration: until you close your browser.
  • currency: remembers the currency you chose for approximate price conversions. Duration: 1 year.
  • buruj_favs: remembers the properties you saved with the heart icon. It is set only when you use favourites, and the list is also kept in your browser's local storage. Duration: 1 year.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: runs the security check that protects our forms from automated spam. Set by challenges.cloudflare.com. Duration: set by Cloudflare.
  • payload-token: keeps our staff signed in to the admin area. It is set only for logged-in staff, never for visitors. Duration: 2 hours, renewed while the staff member stays signed in.
  • _ga: Google Analytics 4 cookie that tells visitors apart so we can count visits. Duration: up to 2 years.
  • _ga_XXXXXXXXXX: Google Analytics 4 cookie that keeps the state of your session; the X's stand for our measurement ID. Duration: up to 2 years.
  • buruj_attr: remembers the campaign or website that first brought you to us (UTM parameters and referring site), so that it can be attached to an enquiry you send. Duration: 30 days.

Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you accept (Google Consent Mode v2). In GA4, IP addresses are anonymised by default.

Marketing cookies

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies at present. If this changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.

Third-party providers

Turnstile cookies are set by Cloudflare, and analytics cookies by Google. These providers also process data under their own privacy policies. Google Analytics involves a transfer of data abroad, as explained in our privacy policy.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, some features may stop working, such as your saved properties, your currency choice or the form security check.
